Rainy Holiday Weekend

Seems like Memorial Day weekend is always thus here in the Pacific Northwest. I took these photos yesterday afternoon at Dave and Nora's house. It's still raining today. Beautiful but it makes me want to stay cozy indoors.

In the Park with Steve

Sunday afternoon Steve and I met alongside Scudder Pond and walked down into Whatcom Falls Park. The walk began with a bit of sun peaking through the clouds and ended under full cloud cover and the cold of impending snow. It was a beautiful day in the park with a dusting of snow from the day before. I took both stills and movies.

Misty Morning

I noticed that the mist was beading the trees yesterday. Took a few pictures as I took a break from cleaning the garage. It rained almost every day in November. There has to be at least one redeeming feature to all that rain.

Cloudy Bright

The bark of a tree, wet from the rain, lit by an overcast and rainy glow. Had to stop and take a photo.

Sunflowers!

On the way to Menucha I stopped to visit with our friends Don and Tricia in Salem, OR. Don is a photographer who specializes in photographs of women. He had found a field of sunflowers and wanted to go there to photograph a young friend of the family named Nataly. I tagged along and concentrated on the field of flowers. We arrived very late in the day and stayed until sunset. It was sunny and hot and a great place to photograph the flowers. Here are a few of the photos I got.

Burn Pile Art

Near where we painted at Menucha there was a huge burn pile. It was full of brush, branches, yard clippings, pieces of wood, our paint rags, and many other things that would burn. One afternoon I took a closer look at it and knew I had to grab some photos of the amazing patterns and colors of the contents of the pile. These are a few of the photos I took.

It's feeling more like spring

All around the trees are sprouting flowers and new green leaves. At last spring is here.
