Our good friends the Cleland-Huras visited us from Vancouver. We went down to Bellingham for a late lunch at the Black Pearl and a visit to Mindport. We all had a great time playing with all the great exhibits there.
Today Arvin and I have been married 21 years. We've lived together for almost 33! We are spending a quiet day. It's very cold outside. The sun is streaming in our windows. Makes for a mellow day at home. We did take a walk over to Steve's house to collect his mail while he's out of town. Of course I had to take my camera along to take some winter abstracts and a portrait of the old dude. We are both so glad we happened to meet each other in 1976 and that we are still together.
My friend Patti is an amazingly creative woman. I visited her studio today to pick out beads for a necklace and earring set she is making for me. What a trip! She has an amazing studio filled with things that she has created. Fun for me to visit. And I'm really looking forward to that beaded jewelry set.
It wasn't an easy decision. But the only way to reclaim the spa room space was to destroy the spa. It was built into a room off our master bathroom. We used it for ten years. But as time passed we used it less and less. It's been over two years since we've used it. And it's been costing energy and chemicals to keep up. So it had to go. The only way was to cut it up into door-sized pieces and take it to the dump. Our friend Ric did the job. Next step is to build a floor, add a heater, outlets, track lights and a utility sink. When it's done I'll have an art studio at home. I'm really excited about that.
