At Maritime Heritage Park

I joined Trish Harding and two other students for a day in the park. We were taking a class in journaling. We prepared our journals last week and made entries in them this week. There is much beauty in Bellingham's Maritime Heritage Park. It's right downtown. Whatcom Creek runs through it and there are birds and other wildlife there as well as a salmon hatchery. The weather was perfect and we had a great day.

Mother's Day Weekend in Seattle / Tacoma

Sun dog above the Museum of Glass Hot ShopI was so lucky to see my son Jason on Mother's Day. At the last minute he got a business trip to Seattle. Arvin and I drove down Saturday morning and picked Jason up at his hotel and went to visit our good friends Chris and Jyl who live near Green Lake. We had a great afternoon and evening together and stayed there over night. We drove Jase to the airport on Sunday morning and went to the Tacoma Glass Museum before returning the Chris and Jyl's for dinner together. It was a perfect way to spend Mother's Day.

Palette Princesses Meet Again

We met at Helen's house this morning to discuss "Plague of Doves" and have breakfast together. We are the Palette Princesses, a group of lady painters who enjoy reading and discussing books and who paint together. Today there were only five of us. In the top picture are Eve, Pat, Valerie and Helen. The middle picture is Helen's Havanese named Chica. The bottom is Pat and her Havanese, Chi Chi.

Spring Color

Taken outside Faith Lutheran Church in Bellingham this morning. We were on our way to listen to the winners of the Music Club scholarships for high school singers and instrumentalists. The kids were just amazing. I know we will hear some of their names in the future as professionals and masters of their art.

At Dave and Nora's

Yesterday was a cold rainy day, perfect for a visit to Dave and Nora's. Steve came too. He, Dave and I played Carcassonne all afternoon while Arvin read and Nora made us a truly delicious dinner. In the evening we all played Mexican Train. Outside Dave and Nora's windows the spring flowers were blooming, forsythia and rhododendrons.
