Siyuan Li and Cole Anderson Rock

We've known Cole Anderson since he was around 12 years old. Now he's a student at Oberlin College and is 22 years old. Over the years we've watched and listened to him grow into a world-class pianist. At Oberlin he met Siyuan Li, another amazing young pianist from China. They've teamed up and play together like pros. Today they played at the Whatcom Museum Old City Hall in Bellingham. Wonderful music making. Remember these names. You'll be seeing more of them in the not too distant future I am sure.

Here come the cats

Fiona, Queen of the Universe, is doing just fine these days. She still loves to play with toys and keeps the younger cats in line. She lets Duma know to back off when he gets too rambunctious.

Duma is still as cute as ever. He's sweet and affectionate and loves to be petted. He gets heart medicine every day and never complains though he can be a bit coy when it's medicine time. But he always stops and lets his mom give him his pill. And he remains healthy thanks to the meds.

Mehitabel is still a wild child. And she, like her brother, loves affection. She comes by the dinner table every night so her mom can pet her. Both she and her brother love to snuggle with their humans in bed at night. These days we can leave the bedroom door open and the cats will sleep near us but won't disturb our sleep.

An Evening in Anacortes

Arvin and I joined my brother Dave and his wife Nora at the Port of Anacortes for a rock show and pizza dinner. Steve and Trish joined us. The pizza was wonderful. Unfortunately the music was just too loud for my ears. Arvin's too. So we left the area where we were sitting and wandered around the docks taking photos. It was a beautiful evening.

Colors on our deck

Went out on the deck this morning to photograph the lilies covered with dew. Had already put out the peanuts so one of the Steller's Jays was not at all shy about grabbing some while I took pictures. If you look closely you'll see that he has one in his throat and is grabbing a second one.
