Roger or Regina

I call him "Roger" though he might be a she, in which case "Regina." He has red and green bands and that's how I came up with the name. R from red, G from green. He is one of the Steller's Jays who stays all year and frequents our deck deli where he finds peanuts, which he loves, and dry dog food, which will do in a pinch. The crows prefer the dog food and will come up on the deck occasionally to get some. They are usually more shy. And Roger is king of it all. He's been around for several years and now seems to be the boss. He decides who can and who cannot have our peanuts. I am sure there are other jays who regularly frequent our deck but I can't identify them. Roger is easy as he is the only double banded bird around here.
