Siyuan Li and Cole Anderson Rock

We've known Cole Anderson since he was around 12 years old. Now he's a student at Oberlin College and is 22 years old. Over the years we've watched and listened to him grow into a world-class pianist. At Oberlin he met Siyuan Li, another amazing young pianist from China. They've teamed up and play together like pros. Today they played at the Whatcom Museum Old City Hall in Bellingham. Wonderful music making. Remember these names. You'll be seeing more of them in the not too distant future I am sure.

Beautiful Concert

Tonight the Bellingham Festival of Music presented another wonderful concert. Heidi Grant Murphy sang some of Canteloube's Songs of the Auvergne. Joe Robinson played a piece by Francaix. And the Festival Chorus joined the orchestra and Heidi for a performance of Poulenc's Gloria. Michael Palmer did his usual masterful job of conducting it all. I did a quick grab of a photo during the final movement of the Gloria. The picture above is the orchestra getting ready to start the concert. Larry Knopp, the trumpet player who is staying with us is in the back to the right.
